One could say that the Ohtakari Fishing Village as a whole creates an open-air museum. The island has a group of red fishing cabins and grey outbuildings that create together this idyllic and unique village. The old fishing cabins are nowadays used as summer cottages and most of them are traditionally restored or renovated. The Fishing Museum is an important part of the area and it gives you the chance to get to know local history of seal hunting and seafaring.
