The walking tour begins at the old Fish Market (1938). Kokkola Town Hall (1980), next to the Fish Market, dominates the square. In front of the Town Hall there is the monument to the women of the Central Ostrobothnian home front, which was erected in 1994. In addition to market trading, special events are also organised in the market square as well as the popular evening market on Wednesdays during the summer.
